New from Unearthed Films
Howdy fans of gore, tons going on over here at Unearthed but when isn’t it? Philosophy of a Knife has been doing phenomenal and it is the lead film at Sitges 08 for the Midnight E-xtreme section and will be up for best picture in that section. Looking forward to seeing how it does against more mainstream gore atrocities. Lets hope Andrey hits it on the head and wins best picture.
Dead Fury is doing great as more people find this little blood soaked animated gem that is a cross between Evil Dead 2 and The Hills Have Eyes. Frank Sudol came out punching and managed to kick a lot of viewers in the face with his gore soaked comedy that truly shows he’s a one man show.
The Harakiri 3 disc box set, Boobs and Blood edition is slated for Oct 7th and is only limited to 1000 copies. So if you’re sick enough to watch sexy Japanese girls commit seppuku in highly erotic fashion while their guts are pulled out of their quivering stomachs, then we have a treat for you. Supplies are extremely limited so you might want to grab these atrocities before they are all gone. We will not be doing a re-issue of these so first come, first served.
The Uncut version of Carmilla - The Lesbian Vampire with be released in Early November with tons of extras and the never before seen zombie massacre that was the highlight in the original directors version. More info coming in a week.
Also we have Two Front Teeth coming out in late November just in time for Christmas. Wait till you get a load of this crazy all in your face film that just makes you wonder, if Santa Clause was a vampire and he was being hunted by hot ninja nuns, how can you not see it? More info coming up, this is just a quick update to the news section.
Now into a series of films that got the underground swelling with pride. Lucifer Valentine’s Slaughtered Vomit Dolls and ReGOREgitated Sacrifice with be getting the Unearthed treatment with superior extras never before seen on any of the underground versions that were currently available straight from Valentine himself. He’s working on the 3rd in the vomit gore trilogy which we will also be releasing. We
have to say, after watching these gore atrocities and trying to wrangle these from Valentine for years, we just managed to do it and I am a happy man. Vomit, gore and Satan, how could we resist? Stay tuned as more info gets announced on all of the Unearthed titles soon to be hitting shelves near you.

Not sure why they are bothering with “Slaughtered Vomit Dolls”. There aren’t enough synonyms for the word “horrible” to describe that movie. I haven’t seen “ReGOREgitated Sacrifice” yet. Here’s the trailer:

Looks like more of the same.
Seppuku done in an erotic fashion huh? Hmmmm samurai sluts being disembouled? Not my idea of a hard on at all!
For real. That shit is mad popular in Japan though. Trying to figure out their pop culture is an adventure.
…..so i was thinking oscar worthy? I’m bored and tired and cant sleep and in 2 1/2 hours from now i have to start an 11 hour drive south to ATL so i’m just going to ramble on about some of my 09 Oscar best picture picks…. Dark Knight (of course), The Wrestler, A Flash of Genius, Miracle at St. Anna, Changeling, Appaloosa, and there was one i seen a preview for that had Bruce Willis that may stir a buzz also but the others i’ve listed i’m sure are up for it….. comments?
OH and maybe Brad Pitt’s Buttons….
let me clarify that i hope DK gets a nomination for best picture but i dont actually think it will b/c its a comic book movie though it is very very deserving of it. Heath will atleast get a nomination for his role. The Road was one that i failed to mention… there a few others i’ve heard friends at work talk about like some new Leo and Kate Winslett movie called Revolutionary or Revolutionary Road or something like that and then maybe a chick flick type movie just as Atonement was nominated i would say this year that slot is reserved for Australia.
So far, I’m thinking the nominees are gonna be:
Burn After Reading
Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins
Diary of the Dead…
Just kidding…
The Dark Knight - It made over $500 million and kept the movie industry alive this year. To not give it credit would be a travesty. I wouldn’t be surprised, and feel it SHOULD, be bounced, but I think it’s about 70/30.
The Visitor - This is the “it” movie for critics this year.
Mamma Mia! - Successful musicals ALWAYS get nominated. And they win.
Happy-Go-Lucky - I haven’t heard anybody say anything that wasn’t in some way related to how this is the movie of the year.
Vicky Cristina Barcelona / W. / Valkyrie - VCB put Woody Allen back on the map a bit, although I think he’ll end up in the screenplay category like usual, W. looks funny as shit the more I see the previews and Hollywood hates Dubya so I wouldn’t be surprised if it shows up on the list out of spite, and Valkyrie is the next entry in the Tom Cruise comeback who, regardless of his insanity, has a knack for being in great, if not classic movies. It’s too early to tell really but those are the movies that jump out at me.
Interesting place to have this conversation
eh, why not. I would have kept it going had comcast decided I was a valuable customer. Alas, cable and internet down since friday with no explanation.
I am so moving to fios ASAP.
valkarie is going to suck, something is going on with that movie, i think the movie studio knows it sucks and is trying to hold off on it
Good call Winnie i forgot all about Valkrie, i can see that one getting nominated too!
I dunno dave, I’ve been hearing it’s good.
