“HOLLYWOOD - Billy Bob Thornton, 53, is returning to his dark roots and will star as Freddy Krueger in a new Nightmare on Elm Street movie, reports WENN.

“Robert Englund, who played the part in eight films, revealed that Thornton will star in the horror films and is an ‘excellent choice” for the role.’”

  5. it’s why i didn’t post it– wasn’t sure on how true this was– i personally am happy with out BBT, personally i would prefer that they start him off young, and more of the serial killer aspect than the demon stuff– if done right, you have 2 different movies combining into one perfect horror franchise–

    this old man crap has gotta go.

  6. Yeah the whole thing started all because Robert Englund was talking about a rumor he heard about Billy Bob Thorton playing Freddy and then it escalated into people posting it as fact. As things stand now, Nightmare doesn’t even have an official script nor a studio.
