The story begins with Sarah Conner mother of future revolution leader John Conner. O.K. you know the story, this series takes off after Terminator 2: Judgment Day when John is older and learning how to become the hero of the future that he has been raised to believe. His life is a never ending battle, he’s always on the run, as everyday passes it becomes harder to survive. Terminators are sent back in time to kill john it is up to Sarah to protect and train him

The series starts right off with a bang, when Sarah moves John to hick town and enrolls him in school. His second day there they have a substitute teacher, that seems a little strange. It turns out that the substitute Cromartie is a terminator sent from the future to kill John Conner. He escapes the terminator, with a little help from Cameron Phillips a girl in his class that he later finds out that she was sent by the future John Conner to protect him.

The Terminators aren’t the Conner’s only worry, an FBI agent named James Ellison is hot on their trail trying to apprehend them. But he has doubt that Sarah Conner may not be lying, and something big is going on. The odds are against Sarah, John & Cameron but they continue with their mission to stop Skynet from being created before it’s to late.

Along the way they pick up a few alies, people like Derek Reese (Brian Austin Green from 90210) who knows the future John and is sworn to protect him and Charley Dixon (Dean winters from Hellraiser: Hellseeker) Sarah’s old finance. Together they each do their part to prevent the Earth from burning.

I like the series a lot, I like the make up effects, the action and I thought that the story was really good. it’s a little more elaborate than a single movie, and very detailed about why things are the way they are. It gives the audience a new feel, for the protecting Terminator Cameron, having to blend end and act human. It also goes more in depth of the struggle of Sarah Conner trying to raise and protect her son.

Both Summer Glau and Lena Headey are super hot, I love chicks with guns and tough attitudes. Thomas Dekker does a great job as young John Conner, his part is very believable and he does a good job portraying the emotion of a future savior. The show really focuses more on the Conners and less on the Terminators so I can see where some people could be discouraged to watch this series, but I loved it. It really bridged the gaps from the films, while paying homage to them constantly.

Trivia & Facts:

FBI agent Ellison is named after Harlan Ellison, the science fiction author whose work inspired the Terminator movies.

The Character “Cameron” is a tribute to James Cameron, who came up with the idea of Terminator and directed the first two movies.

Summer Glau got the role of Cameron based partly on the strength of her fight scenes in Serenity (2005).

Summer Glau quotes Michael and Arnold’s lines (”Come with me if you want to live.”) and actions (naked Summer like naked Arnold gets the attention of three punks whom she beats up so she can take their clothes.)

On May 22, 2008, Warner Home Video officially announced the DVD and Blu-Ray release for August 19, 2008.The first season will be released on August 11, 2008 in the UK.
