The blockbuster global “Mummy” franchise takes a spellbinding turn as the action shifts to Asia for the next chapter in the adventure series, “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.” Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O’Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O’Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

This series is best compared to the Indiana Jones movies, they are all full of action, adventure and exciting scenarios. Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is no exception to that, the film is packed with great chase scenes and action sequences, even a few kung-fu battle scenes, but nothing less was expected from a film starring Jet-Li. I loved the way The Dragon Emperor looked when he was resurrected on his Chariot with the cursed horses, they looked really cool. But that was about it, a lot of the effects where very weak and poorly done.

I thought that the three headed dragon looked kinda cool, but I hated the way that the Emperor and his army turned to clay, I also didn’t like any of the fire that the Emperor controlled or the demon he turned into near the end. Brendon Fraser wasn’t at the top of his game either, it was like he could of cared less wether or not he was even in the film. I didn’t like the switch of Evelyn’s character either Rachel Weisz was way better than Maria Bello. Luke Ford sucks but I have always enjoyed John Hannah .

My favorite part of the movie was when they were going to Shang-hi and the Yetis showed up out of nowhere to help them. They looked really cool even though they didn’t make any since being in the film I thought they did a good job. I think that they focused more on how this filmed looked instead of the dialog and story which was kinda weak. I liked the action but it was the same old same old from the other films. This film isn’t terrible by any means I think I just expected it to have a better story than it did.

Sounds like Tomb of the Dragon Emperor met everyone’s expectations… fun, but Brendan Frasier tries too hard to act, so he has an unnatural feel on screen
I guess it is, huh.
