It’s almost impossible to review this movie without spoiling it or revealing critical moments of the plot but I’ll try. Basically the moral of the movie is that are a few ways to do things, The right way, the wrong way and the best way. This is a story about a little girl named Amanda who disappears from her home in the middle of night. Her mother claims to of been at her friends house down the street for a half an hour watching television and when she returned, Amanda was gone. The little girls aunt felt that the police weren’t doing their jobs and it’s been three days since Amanda disappeared so she hired missing person’s private detective Patrick Kenzie and his girlfriend Angie to maybe get answers from the people that wouldn’t talk to the cops. Thats what he did too, he got answers that the police couldn’t get, followed a few leads but what he discovered was only decisions that would stick with him for the rest of his life.

I really liked this film, it was really good even though at times it was slow it kept you entertained. I loved Ed Harris’s character as Detective Remy Bressant, he was one bad ass cop that would do anything to save little Amanda, anything. Morgan Freeman is just an all around great actor, every role he gets he gives 110% and delivers an outstanding performance, it was no different in Gone, Baby Gone. Ben Affleck may not be the best actor ever but he directed the hell out of this film, I was very surprised and impressed that the movie was as good as it was. I just wish his little brother didn’t star in it. Casey Affleck had a fucked up accent and tried to be a bad ass in this one, I didn’t buy it at all. He done good at the part but the part wasn’t for him, I guess that’s not his fault though.

Now that thats out of the way, the story was great, A coke whore comes home from a night of sucking dick for cocaine only to find her daughter missing. I battled with the thought that if I was a detective trying to find her little girl if I’d even want to return her to such a life. As the plot thickens and you discover that things aren’t quite what they seemed you realize that the right way isn’t always the best way but so many people would sacrifice everything for what they believe is right. The ending was great but nothing extravagant, I liked it because it wasn’t the typical ending for a film like this. Great job Ben, next time cast someone else for the leading role, Casey cost this film a beer if you ask me.

Ed Harris was the man in this!
Yeah, so was Morgan Freeman. Fuck Casey Affleck’s character made me want to throw the TV through a window. What a fucking moron.
I didn’t even know we had a review for this. I loved this movie. I would have given it 4.
Yeah I’m in the same range about 3 1/2 - 4. I thought the ending could have played out smoother as it seems like there were like 3 twists in the span of 20 mins, and yeah Casey is the most unbelievable hardass I’ve ever seen in a film. Ben should have said fuck family. Anyway I also thought the situation with dude’s chick at the end sucked too
