Mysterious scars on his body lead Frank Sears (Johnathon Schaech, The Doom Generation) to the terrifying truth behind a top-secret Cold War biological experiment buried deep below a derelict Army base. Awakened and unleashed on an unsuspecting world, the Organizm absorbs light and energy, feeds on the living
and is growing at an unstoppable rate. Sears and Army hazmat specialist Carrie Freeborn (Erica Leerhsen, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 2003) only have a few hours to unlock the entity’s genetic code before mankind is extinguished.

It’s no secret that I love biological films about virus’s spreading wildly and killing a bunch of people without warning. I can’t think of any thing scarier than a government invented disease or an outbreak of some kind. All though the Organizm isn’t a virus it is still a government conspiracy gone horribly wrong. Its more of a biological weapon created by a Russian scientist working for the U.S. Army.

With that being said I went into this film expecting to be writing a one beer review and just bash the hell out of the movie. I was wrong, it’s actually a really good watch, and I feel that if you share some of the same interest in this sort of thing that you will agree with me. The acting wasn’t bad, of coarse the only movie I’ve seen (that I know of) with Johnathon Schaech in it was “The Doom Generation” I was impressed with his acting skills. Erica Leerhsen is just plane hot, and you get to see her little titties which is always a bonus. The film reminded me a lot of “Species” at times which isn’t a bad thing.

Last but not least the Organizm itself was really wild, it grew like a vine from a plant and it nested in the corpse of the Russian scientist. The more they shot it with missiles and automatic machine guns the more it grew, it got huge covering the whole town. The more they attacked it the more violent it became. I really enjoyed this film, I think that even though it’s a low budget sci-fi film you should give it a spin.
