In the tradition of Underworld, Garbriel reveals the battle between good and evil and the fight for the human soul. Set in purgatory, there is a struggle between Arc and Fallen angels for control over the city and its population of re-born souls. At present, darkness rules and Garbriel, the last of seven Arcs sent to return light, must assume a human form for the first time. In the darkest places of the human soul, this lone arc angel’s battle with his human feelings and emotions will prove as perilous as facing the Fallen.

Great, Great movie, the visual effects are astonishing and the film is very well made. I haven’t seen anything else from director Shane Abbess, but I can say that he has done a hell of a job on this film. Purgatory as a city was pretty cool, in its vast darkness and very depressed setting. Gabriel was a bad ass also, seeing as how all of his brothers who came before him have all been killed or have given up, he alone faced the evil fallen angels.

The fight scenes were awesome and a lot of shots get fired, so I can say the action was pretty good. Everyone else compares this to the underworld, I can see that even though I am not an Underworld fan. They were definitely filmed in the same gloomy style. You need to see this movie, it is very good and keeps you wanting more.

  1. do you own thiws film and if so may i borrow it from you i didnt like underworld at all so maybe this will help me coup with the pain of watching it

  2. interesting… i’ll have to look this one up

  3. Underworld would have been great if either a) Kate Beckinsale was a little more scantily clad and b) the story wasn’t trifling. The scene in the first one where she shoots out the floor is a classic. That was in the preview though.

This sounds good, almost like a “Prophecy”. I am curious enough to check it out.

  4. It has a lot of Prophecy overtones but its the same concept, so that is to be expected, except in the Prophecy Gabriel was a bad guy right, or am I wrong.
