TMB’s Artist Showcase-A Kid Rock Tribute

“If it looks good, you’ll see it.
If it sounds good, you’ll hear it.
If it’s marketed right, you’ll buy it.
But…if it’s real, you’ll feel it.”-Kid Rock

Kid Rock is easily one of the best entertainers that you could ever have the pleasure of seeing live. I’ve seen Kid Rock & The Twisted Brown Trucker Band live four times and it keeps getting better, nothing but tits, ass and a lot of alcohol. He is my favorite artist and I have a lot of respect for his style and music. I first heard Kid Rock on the “Strangeland” Official Movie Soundtrack, with his track “Fuck Off” featuring rapper Eminim. I immediately fell in love with the sound. The Mixture of rap and metal, the perfect combination of self destruction for today’s youth. I have been a very loyal Kid Rock fan ever since.

Being such a fan I have decided to post a Kid Rock tribute, I reviewed each album from “Devil Without A Cause” on, mainly because I didn’t really like any of the earlier stuff very much. I do have respect for the earlier albums but none of them impacted my life like the later music did. Kid Rock has appeared on many soundtracks and is featured on many tracks on other artist’s CDs. He’s been in a few movies and has a few memorable T.V. spots. One of my personal favorites was the Vh1 Kid Rock Christmas special that aired back in December 2005, it’s a tradition at my house to watch it every year.

In February 2002 Kid Rock joined up with his friend Hank Williams Jr. on Cmt Crossroads. The two of them gave a classic performance of a few of their hits including, “Cowboy”, “Family Tradition”, “Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound” and “Lonely Road of Faith”. The two collaborated on the song “F-Word” and released it shortly after. Kid Rock claims that he was influenced by country music at an early age and it was a great honor to sing along side country legend, Hank Jr. He’s teamed up with other country artist as well like Willie Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis and Leanne Rhymes. He had a track on the Waylon Jennings Tribute album with Kenny Chesney they performed Lucenbach Texas.

Country music artist aren’t the only ones he collaborated with, He’s worked with blues artist/ guitarist Kenny Wayne Sheppard on both “Kid Rock-Self Titled” and a track called “Spank” on Kenny Wayne’s album as well. He’s done some work with R&B legend R. Kelly just this year. He has a new track with Bob Seger out right now called “Real Mean Bottle”. He’s worked with Sheryl Crow, Run DMC, Nickelback, Methods of Mayhem (which is Tommy Lee’s old group, weird) and even the southern rock gods, Lynard Skynyrd.
Here are a bunch of music videos and live performances for listening and viewing pleasure.
He’s had a few cameo appearences in a couple of movies also. Like Joe Dirt, Biker Boyz, and Osmosis Jones. He appeared in Larry the Cable Guys Health Inspector. He’s been on The Simpson’s, Coors Light commercials and many live t.v. spots including the SuperBowl. Dude is all over the place.
Kid Rock will always be a strong part of my life, you can’t get as far as he did without being talented. Just when you think he’s fell off the planet, he’ll drop a new album and blow our minds once again. Fuck Elvis Kid Rock is the king of Rock N’ Roll and one day the rest of the world will know that fact. His music is inspirationable, and his style is uncanny, what Kid Rock’s music says to me is I’ve been down, I’ve been out but I keep coming. I live my life by that, no matter how bad life sticks it to me, I keep my headlights on and my horn blowin. I might crash into a wall but hey… I might not.
